Yesterday I arrived at one of my favorite places in the world, Chris’ Camp in Spearfish SD for the 79th Black Hills Rally. This is my home away from home in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I started staying here over 10 years ago when my Father and I go to Sturgis, this year is the 79th annual Black Hills Rally. My first time riding out here was 1983, 36 years ago. You know what they say, if you desire to get good at something practice, practice, practice.
I will be out here for the next 16 days before I head for Wisconsin to see friends and Family. The rest of the riders in my group will be showing up through out the next week and a half. Most of the group will be leaving to head back home around the 9th of August and I will be in that group.
I am in charge of the first 4 camp spots in Chris Camp, and my group as a whole has been staying here for over 25 years. Heimyville, (Named after our founder Ron Heimbecker) presents itself annually in Chris’ Camp. A few years ago the right to lead Heimyville was passed from Ron to Me.
Challenge Excepted!
It is hard to explain to people what it is like to be a small business man, a Jeweler, 50 weeks of the year and then the other 2 weeks let it all hang out at Sturgis. This is where I prove to myself what I am really made of. This is the strength that most will never know is inside of them.
I Know It Well!
In 2013 I moved from Green Bay WI to Daytona Beach FL along with my daughter Ariel. Since that time I have been blessed with being at both Bike Weeks, Daytona & Sturgis. Learning to incorporate my entire life (Work & Leisure) into one entity has taken some time and effort, but I am getting closer to pulling it off. This may be the Year of the Biggest Changes of my Life.
Stay Tuned!
