“You never grow up.”

Don’t you wish more people were told this growing up by people they trusted.

“They say growing older is mandatory, but actually, growing up is optional.” If that were more common, life as we now know it would be so different than it is right now. Just imagine how beautiful life would be.

They say the body will become less young around us. That being said, “We can choose to never grow up.” My mid 90-year-old Grandfather has warned me about this throughout the years. What happens around you if you stay here long enough is not pretty, and not for the weak of heart, as he likes to say. As he has said many, many, times through the years, “Getting old is not for wimps.”

I discovered something throughout my life. Many years ago, I must have chosen differently than many I have known throughout my life. Why do I say that? 10 years ago, I left my home state of Wisconsin for Florida after starting my own business. I now find myself living on the beach in Daytona Beach right next to my daughter and grandson. Who do you desire to be like?

Isn’t it funny, it’s kind of like school. They had our undivided attention for 12 years and never bothered to teach us how to deal with money, raise children, or stay healthy. Just another one of those things that seems ridiculous to me at the age of 56.

“You never actually grow up, your body ages around you, you never grow up.” Don’t you think somebody, anybody, could have mentioned that little detail to us somewhere along the way? I’m glad I chose to never grow up. That was a trap that nobody ever warned us about.

Just go to any park and look at the children and the adults. So now what? What do you do with this little detail? Start here. Choose Happy.

Peace, love and joy. As long as you are choosing, choose wisely.

All my love,

Mark
